UNESCO Center for Global Education marked the 2016 UNESCO World Science Day with School Children at UCT International Cultural Center with UNESCO Associations New York

Science museums and centers are platforms for dialogue, understanding and resilience. They produce sparks of delight and wonder that inspire all visitors, regardless of age and background, in an experience that brings all women and men together around common values.  In this spirit, I invite all of partners and governments to do everything to support, nurture and harness the full power of science museums and centers to shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.

The purpose for the World Science Day for Peace and Development is very clear especially now when the momentum for global change, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the Sendai Framework for Action, and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change have stood out bring new vision for prosperity, peace and the planet, set the pace to nurture innovation and creativity to step up action for inclusive sustainable and just path to the future.Science has the potential to transform and improve both the living standard of people and the development of the society. Science has the weapon to ignite strong momentum for global change from developing innovations and technology for poverty eradication, improved resources for social, health, education and all spheres of human development. Science is essential tool in our work to achieve sustainability and in the meeting of our global goals and targets for All.In this spirit, I encourage UNESCO Center for Global Education and UNESO Association New York on this initiative to step up innovative actions for schools in commitment to the work of UNESCO and the U.S Federation for UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Association.
